If you want a taxi after landing, look for an authorized taxi counter in domestic or international arrivals. Show the agent your address and ask for the total fare to that entrance. If you want someone waiting for you, ask your host to arrange a pickup or put you in touch with their driver. Get a meeting point you can recognize after baggage claim, a way to identify the driver, and a number to call if you miss each other.

If you’re considering the airport shuttle, check the second leg before buying the first ticket. The airport operator lists stops in metropolitan Guadalajara, including the Nueva Central Camionera bus station. Its bulletin does not list a direct shuttle to Ajijic. A message you can send before flying

Hello, we arrive at Guadalajara airport on [date and arrival time], flight [airline and number]. We’re [number] people with [bags or access needs], staying at [address, town and entrance pin].

What is the total price for our group, in which currency, and how can we pay? Where will we meet after baggage claim? If the flight is late, whom should we call, and is there a waiting charge?

Before boarding your flight, save the reply, your host’s number and the entrance pin offline. If you’re arriving late, ask your host how you’ll get inside once the driver leaves.

Getting back to the airport

Start with your airline’s terminal and check-in deadline. Give the transfer provider your exact Lakeside pickup address and ask what departure time they recommend for that flight, allowing for traffic. Agree on a backup contact in case the driver can’t come.
