MexPat Now is designed to answer everyday questions quickly: what is happening locally, what conditions are like, whether an official notice is active, and where to verify the details. It is edited and maintained by Ken Gardner for MexPat Guide.
Source standards
Local news, events and notices must have a working exact-source URL, a named publisher or organizer, a verifiable date and a clear connection to the destination. Generic homepages, inferred dates, duplicate stories, speculation and unsupported summaries are rejected.
Freshness & expiration
Dated events disappear after their final local date. Official notices are removed when they expire or are resolved. Each destination keeps an honest empty state when no current item passes validation.
Corrections
Details can change after publication. Readers are encouraged to use the linked original source before travelling, purchasing or making an important decision. Substantive corrections are reviewed before the public page is changed.
Live data
Weather, air quality and exchange rates come from attributed data services. When a live provider is delayed, the site may show a clearly labelled last-known verified value. No live value is presented as current when its source is unavailable.
Privacy & accessibility
Display preferences and return-visit comparisons stay on the reader’s device. The site records only anonymous aggregate interactions. The emergency wallet-card tool does not transmit the personal details entered into it.
Commercial independence
Advertising, sponsorships or paid directory listings must be clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial selection. Payment does not qualify a news item, event, notice or source for inclusion.
